COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION

  • The School Community and the Superintendent are committed to active and meaningful involvement of the public. As with recent decisions (hiring of the new Superintendent, busing fee, and band fee), the School Committee will continue to provide opportunities for public input into key decisions that will shape our public education system and our community as a whole.

The community is always encouraged to contact the School Committee with any suggestions for improvement. There are ongoing community groups with which to become involved. Periodically, the School Committee will convene special working groups to work on specific issues.

PUBLIC COMMENT

  • In order to make informed decisions, the Norfolk School Committee will periodically hold official comment periods during which the community is encouraged to provide input/testimony prior to the school committee making its decision.

Each year the School Committee solicits public comment on the following topics:

    Upcoming Fiscal Year Budget
    School Choice
Proposed revisions to existing and adoption of new policy
