History and Social Science (Grade 6)
In Sixth Grade, students take a broader look at the world by applying the perspectives of political science, economics, geography, history, and archaeology to their studies. They explore the development of prehistoric societies and then focus on the regions of Western Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America. Instruction emphasizes analysis of evidence, interpretation of maps and artifacts, and discussion of how geography and culture influence societies.
