Science, Technology & Engineering (Grade 3)
Science instruction in Norfolk Public Schools helps students develop deeper reasoning skills and begin to connect concepts across disciplines. Students investigate phenomena, build models, and carry out experiments that allow them to ask questions, test ideas, and explain their findings.
In Third Grade, students study inheritance and variation of traits in living things, the impact of weather and climate, and forces such as motion and magnetism. They also work on design projects that require planning, testing, and refining solutions, strengthening their understanding of the engineering design process.
