Grade 2

In Grade 2 at H. Olive Day, students expand their academic foundations and begin to take greater ownership of their learning within inclusive, encouraging classroom environments. They read with increasing fluency, write to share information and ideas, and deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts like place value and operations through rich tasks and discussions. Collaboration, questioning, and thoughtful risk-taking are important parts of daily learning. By the end of the year, they are ready for the next step toward independence at Freeman-Kennedy.
