History and Social Science (Grade 1)
In First Grade, students deepen their understanding of citizenship, leadership, and community. They explore maps and learn about different types, while also considering how people show respect for themselves and others. Lessons introduce the concepts of unity and diversity in communities, helping students see the many ways people contribute to society. In economics, they begin to think about how people make choices about buying goods, using services, and saving resources. Instruction emphasizes building responsibility and understanding how individual actions affect the community.
