The music for our Kindergarten classes has been songs of animals that are our familiar favorites.
Songs like "Old John the Rabbit" sing about the antics of the rabbits that are found eating our garden vegetables.
Barnyard animals are also the subject of the sounds we imitate in the song,"Morning on the Farm".
We have been playing music patterns on the xylophone in all classes using 2 or 3 letters of the musical alphabet that match the melody of a song. The song titled " The Little Green Frog", was played with the two letter pattern C and G.
The Memorial Day holiday was celebrated with the song "Flags Will Fly" including lyrics about the USA flag, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln. A pattern of three letters, C,E,and G, was played on the xylophone while we sang "Flags Will Fly" in grade 2 and grade1.
The music for our First Grade classes has been centered around our concert theme:
The Musical Heritage of the United States: Songs of the Old West
We hope you enjoyed our First Grade concert on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 1:45-2:30 PM.
The music for our Second Grade classes was centered around our concert theme "I LOVE MUSIC". We were happy to see all of you at our Second Grade concert on Monday, May 7,2012.
The Second Grade Chorus - " Singers of the Day" sang songs from our concert "I LOVE MUSIC" at the Boston State House on Monday, April 30 on the Grand Staircase. The chorus sang beautifully and we were honored to have Senator Richard Ross attend the concert. We were pleasantly surprised when he offered to escort our chorus and parents on a wonderful historical tour of the State House. We will also receive a photo of our chorus signed by Senator Ross in the near future. The singers and their parents were so pleased with the events of the day! We all agreed that it was "a big hit" ! ! !
Thank you "Singers of the Day," for your dedication to singing and your attitude that " I LOVE MUSIC".
