Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
Well, we’re closing in on the last month of school, only 21 more days to go!! The last day of school is Thursday, June 14. This is a noontime dismissal for all students.
I am delighted to announce that the new Freeman-Kennedy School is on schedule. Substantial completion is targeted for June 18. We will move into the new school the week of June 18. Construction workers will begin to prepare for the demolition of the Centennial portion of the building the week of June 24. Demolition should begin on July 1. It will take approximately seven weeks for construction workers to pave parking lots, drop off/pick-up loop, and bus loop. During the month of August, I will host several "Open House" opportunities for students and families to come visit their new school.
I would like to wish the grade six students well on their journey into Middle School. As you make new friends, encounter challenging curriculum, and try new activities, remember to believe in yourself and know that family, friends, and teachers are there to support you every step of the way.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank students, parents, and staff for a wonderful school year! It has been a pleasure to work with such a dedicated and caring school family. I would also like to wish students, parents, and staff a wonderful summer break. Remember to take time for yourself to relax and to enjoy family and friends!
Happy Father’s Day to all the great DADS!!
Warm Regards,
Lisa Altham-Hickey
